For some reason the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation (IDP&R) has strayed from their guiding principles. The Master Planning process is designed to identify and protect “Park Values.”

The Master Plan for Farragut State Park has not been updated since 1975.

The logging of Farragut State Park is in direct violation of almost every principle guiding park management.

Planning and implementation of resource management must focus on enhancing recreation, education, wildlife and nature, not logging. The IDP&R and IDF&G have proven themselves unworthy of making proper management decisions.

Where do we go from here? An immediate moratorium must stop all logging in the park. Then an independent board must be assigned the task of updating the Master Plan for Farragut strictly adhering to the State Park Master Plan Guidelines

The Solution: Follow Official Idaho State Park Rules
